School Council Meeting Minutes – Reusable Water Bottles: Saving the World
The School Council discussed how using reusable water bottles can help protect the environment by reducing single-use plastic waste. Councillors agreed that encouraging everyone to use a refillable bottle would be a positive step towards making our school more environmentally friendly.
Action agreed:
  • Encourage all pupils and staff to bring a reusable, refillable water bottle to school.
  • Each class will aim to get as many pupils using refillable bottles as possible.
  • Classes will be encouraged to increase the number of pupils bringing reusable bottles, with the class achieving the most conversions recognised for their efforts.
  • School Council members will promote the campaign and remind everyone that small changes can make a big difference to our planet.
The aim is to reduce plastic waste, develop environmentally responsible habits and encourage the whole school community to work together to help save the world.

Action:

Our School Council is taking action to help protect the planet! Council members will be visiting each class to talk about the importance of water conservation, recycling and reducing plastic waste. They will be encouraging pupils and staff to bring reusable water bottles, refill them throughout the day and avoid single-use plastics. The School Council is also launching a challenge to see which class can encourage the most people to make the switch to refillable bottles. By making small changes together, we can reduce waste, save water and make our school a greener place!
